Detox diets Do we need to do – a detox Diet a.k.a. Detox Diet aims to cleanse the body of toxins or harmful substances. Although quite popular in the midst of society in recent years, there is actually a need to be understood regarding the effectiveness and safety of the detox diet.

The method of detox diet is very diverse, one of which is the fasting followed by eating certain types of food or beverages, such as fruits, vegetables, juices, or water. Additionally, there are also advocates of using herbs and other supplements to cleanse the intestines.

Do you need a detox Diet?
Until now there has been no scientific evidence explaining that the detoxification diet is capable of losing weight or beneficial to health. Even some people who do detox diets feel side effects like lack of energy, muscle pain, quick fatigue, feeling dizziness and nausea.

For that reason, detox diets are often assessed as unnecessary to detoxify the body or "cleanse" the digestive system. In addition, the body also has its own mechanism in getting rid of toxins naturally all the time.

Toxins will not settle in the liver, kidneys, or other parts of the body. The liver, skin, urinary tract, and digestive tract constantly cleanse the body through feces, urine, and sweat.

Is Detox Diet safe?
Keeping the body to be able to work optimally in cleansing naturally, you can actually do with eating fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, drinking lots of water, and avoiding sweet foods, processed foods or packaging, and foods high in fat.

If you would like to have a detox diet, you should consult your doctor to get safe and appropriate information. Because there are some conditions where a person is not advised to do a detox diet, among them:

High blood pressure
Pregnant or nursing mothers
A malnourished person
Most health experts are more supportive of the implementation of healthy lifestyles than doing detoxification diets. The best way to implement a healthy lifestyle, among others, eating a healthy diet, a light exercise routine of at least 30 minutes per day, adequate rest and sleep, and drinking enough water to stay hydrated.

Consider fine whether you need to do a detoxifying diet. If you still decide to do so, it is advisable to consult your doctor first to prevent any negative effects that can be caused.
